This Blog is an attempt to create a representative listing of aircraft movements at Dublin from the mid-1970s on. It will be largely from my own records, which naturally are far from complete. Where I can incorporate photos taken by myself or links to photos elsewhere, I'll try to do so, to add a bit of colour. Comments and feedback welcome.

Dublin Movements, October 1977
Dublin Movements, September 1977
A month with reduced activity and variety after the summer peak. A return to studies for me also meant that I was not able to monitor activity during much of the week. the Aviogenex Tu-134A was a rare vistor, for a sports fixture, I think. Aero 145 G-ATBH was in itself a rare type; this example was a regular visitor, being flown by owner Stefan Brod. He had been born in 1923 and was a Czech Jew who escaped the Nazis in Europe. He fought for the Allies in WW2 as a RAF Depot Signals Officer in the Free Czech Air Force. He was a successful scientist and businessman and only entered semi-retirement in 2011, before passing away in January 2014.

Dublin Movements, August 1977
My records for this month are somewhat limited, owing to vacation periods spent elsewhere. The most notable visitor was the Iranian C-130 on the last day of the month - this of course being when the Shah still ruled that country. The Rolls-Royce-operated Heron is now preserved at the De Havilland Museum in London Colney.
Dublin Movements, July 1977
This was a typical summer month, with a range of seasonal charters and also a variety of light aircraft visiting from Europe. The Caravelle was a popular type, as can be seen in my listing. I have included two US Navy Kaman Seasprite helicopters seen on board two vessels in Dublin Port. The port was accessible then in a way that nowadays it is not. The Mildenhall-based Convair visited Dublin no doubt on a related personnel or mail support flight. Aer Lingus hired in some additional capacity from the ever-reliable Montana Austria and also the relatively new Icelandic carrier Eagle Air.
